Hi, I'm Jesse, a professional maths and computer science tutor who lives in Brighton, UK. I'm also an ex-software engineer and a local Fiveways, Brighton parent.
Whether students aim to get ahead or just keep up, I can help. My tutoring approach is to listen more than lecture, as this supports students to think independently. It also creates a calm space for problem-solving.
I am patient, results-driven, and passionate about finding new ways to inspire and motivate students of all abilities. I love learning and earned an MSc in Computer Science (with Distinction) from Birkbeck, University of London. As tutoring should be available to anyone who needs it, I also volunteer as an A-level maths tutor for Tutor the Nation and as a GCSE maths tutor for The Access Project. I also hold an up-to-date high level background check (Enhanced DBS).
My rate is £40/hour but we can discuss a reduction if you can't afford that. I'm based in Fiveways, Brighton (a few minutes walk from Varndean and Dorothy Stringer schools) and happy to travel locally for a small fee, or work online. I'm also a big walker, so stop me and say hi if you see me around!
